Newberry National Volcanic Monument Pictures | Bend Oregon Photographer

Hayley and Kyle's engagement session at Newberry National Volcanic Monument literally felt comparable to stepping on Mars. It felt out of this world. Hayley and Kyle met in Middle School. Kyle is two years younger than Hayley so the interest wasn't really there (at least that's what Hayley said), but Kyle knew even back then how special of a girl she was.

These two connected years later at the University of Utah. Suddenly, Kyle didn't seem so young and immature as he did way back then, ha! Months down the road, Kyle surprised Hayley by proposing on the beach in Lincoln City, Oregon at sunset. Oregon held a special place for them with their engagement, so they were open to any location suggestions that offered unique and different landscapes to make their pictures stand out. We hit it out of the ball park by picking Newberry National Volcanic Monument !

Kyle’s sense of humor paired with Hayley’s contagious smile left us with some brilliant shots. Not to mention the romance between these two. Ow Ow! I always help guide you through a session with prompts that feel true to your relationship and natural to give you candid results that you will love!

Newberry National Volcanic Park is one of the only dormant volcanoes in the U.S.! https://traveloregon.com/ The 1 mile loop trail to the Big Obsidian Flow leads you to miles of wide spread lava rock across the high desert with breathtaking views from all angles.

Hayley and Kyle's outfits gave the perfect contrast to the lava rock. In the Fall, the temperatures start to drop, crowds start to disappear and the park feels very intimate.

We brought along a blanket just in case, which resulted in some more cozy shots. Who doesn’t want to snuggle with their fiance on a bed of old lava rock watching the sunset on a crisp October evening?

Hayley and Kyle love taking on adventure together, which is why this location turned out perfect for them. I love brainstorming with clients on a location that suits their relationship. It adds to the memories that your pictures will hold during this special time while you're engaged.
