Adventurous Family Session at Sawyer Park | Bend, Oregon Photographer

Jessica and I grew up together in the Bay Area, years ago when my husband was finishing his rotations for pharmacy school in Seattle, we made a weekend down to Vancouver to check out the area. I was just starting my photography business and Jessica's family was one of the first I photographed! Now with1 baby more added to this sweet crew, these guys traveled three hours one way just for me to take their pictures AGAIN.

The Garner family is a wild, energetic, embrace-the-chaos type of crew. These boys were so much fun and Sawyer Park was the perfect location for these adventurous boys. The giant rocks, bridge to cross with the river running underneath, and never ending trails left these boys with plenty to explore in our hour together. These boys were scaling some of these big rocks and besides the minor heart attacks they gave us, capturing them enjoying this park was so thrilling to watch.

When I asked Jessica what was most important for me to capture during our session she stated her kids relationships with each other. These kids have so much love for each other and it shows in how they include one another in these pictures. And can you even with that sweet blue-eyed baby girl?!

This family's free-spirited nature made this session so much fun, and kept me on my toes. P.S. that's how I like it. I think the key to a successful family session is letting your kids explore the area, interact with what the location offers, while squeezing in those few everyone-smiling-at-the-camera- shots.

If this is how your kids are (can't be put in a box, or in one spot for an extended amount of time) then please reach out for pictures that will match the personalities of your kids and the dynamic of your family. That is the purpose I feel behind photography.
