The Most Adorable Alpaca Ranch You'll Ever See Outside of Bend
We've always been obsessed with llamas in our family so when I saw that there was an Alpaca Farm near us in Bend, Oregon, we made a day of it. The Crescent Moon Ranch is just before the turn off to head to Smith Rock State Park in Redmond. Since we haven't found a zoo yet near us this is a great substitute and even better that it is free to enter.
The staff and farm owners are so sweet and take great care of their farm. They have a gift shop right across from the parking lot that has all kinds of different merchandise incorporating alpaca wool and food to feed them. It's $2 for a decent bag of feed and then you are free to roam through the gated areas and feed their alpacas. They had benches along the way to sit and enjoy the view of Smith Park not far beyond while watching the alpacas roam around. The cutest were the baby alpacas, seriously little puff balls of cuteness.
We had a ball walking around and petting the alpacas and feeding them until we got spit on haha. Careful, those adult alpacas know how to tell you they are hangry. If some how you make it out without getting spit on and you decide you can't leave without one, they have alpacas for sale.
One day, maybe we'll have enough land to have a little alpaca of our own, but until then we will be frequenters to Crescent Moon Ranch.
