Downtown Bend Mini Session | Central Oregon Family Photographer
Man, I knew Fall in Bend was going to be beautiful, but after not experiencing a true fall for 3 years, this one truly knocked my socks off and as a photographer in a place like Bend I am throwing out all the heart eyes. The trees were exploding with reds, yellows and oranges. I wish it could be fall all year long, but alas. Also when it comes to family pictures during the Fall, every one's top requests are fall leaves. And it's hard to find spots, meaning parks, that aren't crowded with tons of people, especially other photographers doing sessions, because Fall is the time that everyone wants their pictures done in Bend (and everywhere in the US). I found this spot after really searching, this path was near a neighborhood in Bend and when I saw these trees I just knew this had to be the spot! If you have a specific request whether that be pine trees, tall grass, fall colors, snow, etc. just know that I will absolutely spend the time to find exactly what you're hoping for! I already have a list of great suggestions with specific types of scenery, but if that doesn't fit what you have in mind then I am always open to explore and see what else there is.
The Foltz family was so fun to work with. The kids were ready to go the second they got out of the car. And with a mini session, it really was the perfect amount of time to get all the shots they wanted. If you have kids with short attention spans, and lots of energy, a mini session really is perfect. Both of Heidi and Cody's kids were so affectionate and there was no lack of love in this session. I asked a head of time what their kids interests were and Heidi mentioned to me that her daughter loved cats. I had a small cat stuffed animal that I brought, which I am so glad I did because this really helped make her comfortable during points in our session. It's always easy too to throw a stuffed animal on my head and have everyone look at it and laugh.
I know I always say this but their outfits were spot on and totally complimented each other AND the location. I loved the little mustard yellow dress and the polka dotted button up shirt. I have a guide I send all my clients to help with planning what you wear at your session. I know that can be more stressful than the actual pictures for some, but I include a lot of examples and tips for how to plan well and since sending this guide to clients I have never been disappointed in a clients outfits. I love how clients interpret the advice for their own family. Outfits always really seem to fit the personalities of those who wear them at my sessions. If you missed getting pictures done during the Fall but still need them, don't hesitate to reach out! I am convinced Bend is beautiful during all seasons.
