How to make Extended Family Sessions go Smoothly- Bountiful Family Photographer

It’s so fun to get your entire family together for pictures but it can be extremely stressful. Here are some tips for making your extended family session run smoothly.

Depending on the size of your group, choose 2-4 colors to incorporate through all the families. Then you can use patterns to break up the colors throughout. This family did a great job doing that.

We try to work as quickly as possible once we’re all together. We get the whole family if everyone is happy and ready and then we break down into all individual families . Some kids take longer to warm up so we start with those that are ready and then get to those once they’re happier.

There are so many working pieces and parts when it comes to getting a large group together for pictures. We make sure we get every photo combination that you want, whether that’s cousins, adult siblings, individual families, grandparents with grandkids, etc.
