Layton Utah Mother's Day Minis- Light Loft Studio, Layton

Mother’s Day Minis have come and gone. These are something I have loved doing over the course of my career but haven’t gotten my “stuff” together to do them here in Utah yet. I was so happy to have 5 moms and their kids come join, including one grandma and her grandkids (if you look closely you’ll notice it’s my mom and my kids lol). Light and Loft Studio in Layton was great for the location, as well as the lighting. 10 minutes goes fast but we quickly to get all the combos these moms wanted. I know moms often feel like they don’t have enough pictures with their kids, especially professional ones. So if you have the chance to get nice pictures done with just your kids you should take the chance!

The white backdrop of Light Loft Studio made for a great neutral backdrop but we put up a fun green paper back drop as well. I love the pop of color for those that picked to use it.

Mini sessions are great if you want a good bang for your buck, and they are super fast paced so you get lots of variety in the short time we have. And though ititss not pictured here I do allow husbands to pop in for one family picture if this is your annual family pictures for the year.

Each session had kids getting extra wiggly, or shy kids, even a fussy newborn for one but we try to keep these light and fun. The secret to successful minis is to just keep going and moving. You can’t be idle and stick with the same pose for 5 minutes. But also look how much variety you can get in only 10 minutes!
