The Cutest Snowy Family Pictures You've ever Seen | Salt Lake Family Photographer
The Duke family!!! I have been dying to do some family sessions in the snow. It has sounded so much fun and I've had so many ideas for cute outfits and poses. We haven't necessarily had a crazy winter, but just so happened that when we had our sessions scheduled we got lots of fresh snow this weekend! Julia is a local photographer, so I knew I didn't have to be too worried about what she would pick for outfits because she already had an eye for what would photograph well. And when she showed up and I saw the kids and everything all together I died. Can lion bonnets and kids Gigi pip style hats get any cuter?
The Duke family is a sweet, fun and adorable as they look. I love chasing kids around at my sessions, but it was even funner to chase around kids in a sled and throwing and eating the snow. I love that any type of location and now adding the snow into this really makes it so easy to capture kids candidly. I know the cold temperatures and snow usually deters families from wanting to book during the winter months, but I hope this session shows you how much fun we can have. The kids had layers underneath, which are not noticeable at all I think and we had hand warmers in all pockets and gloves. I was sweating during this with all the running and chasing we were doing. We had no tears or cold bodies until the very end. The snow is a beautiful backdrop and works great for outfits to stand out and acts as a great reflector on skin tones.
Mt. Bachelor has dozens of trails and which make it a great place to do a session. We found this running trail close to LOGE Bend Hotel on the way up the mountain and bringing a sled for the kids to play with was the best decision. The snow and this sled just made the kids so unapologetically them.
Like seriously, how are they so cute and perfect!!
Don't be afraid of the snow! I hope everyone will get one set of family pictures in the snow some time! Because it is so beautiful and unique!
