Badlands Sunset Mommy and Me Session- Bend Family Photographer
The Slatter family is in a big life transition and I was so flattered that Katelyn reached out to me to document and update some pictures for them. The Badlands is a beautiful area that I swear is never crowded. I've actually never even seen another car there, so it makes for a more comfortable environment then feeling like your trying to share a crowded area with others or your have an audience watching you while your taking pictures.
The kids loved the wide open spaces to explore and run around. Katelyn is entering a new stage of being a single mom. She wanted this session to document the excitement and optimism heading into this new season of life. Katelyn's kids are both so loving and affectionate towards their mom and towards each other. It is so fun to be behind the scenes and just document what is. A lot of times I just set you up in a cute pose and then the rest unfolds naturally.
The blues in their outfits stood out against the desert scene here. I don't always love matchy matchy outfits but they went well here. I've had so many clients in blues lately and they compliment Central Oregon so well. My favorites from this session are their big smiles with crowded teeth before any dental work is done. And the natural explorer in all little kids wanting to jump off rocks, find bones and sticks and how big a kid can grin being tickled.
All stages of parenthood and motherhood especially are to be documented, so whether your motherhood journey looks the traditional way or not, it would be an honor to be able to capture it.
