Splash Pad Fun- Bend Family Photographer
We recently made a much needed trip to Utah to visit family after 3 cancelled trips due to Covid. Both of our families live there now so we decided to make the road trip shortly after we moved into our house and preschool ended. We broke up the trip into two days and spent the night in Boise. It really wasn't bad with breaking it up. The kids did great, Auden only asked "are we there yet" 800 times and the roads were good.
While we were in Utah we made sure to do lots of the stuff that we don't have access to here in Bend. A few of those things were zoo, aquarium, a really cool dinosaur park with life size dinosaur statues, a dinosaur museum, and lastly the splash pad! I am so happy to hear that Bend is finally getting a splash pad. Though it won't be built and ready til next summer, it will be so fun to have once it's ready. I have heard also that Redmond, Oregon has a small splash pad. I need to get the kids down there because they loved this one right by my brother's house in Kayesville, UT.
These Hawaii, water loving babies have been missing having access to water year round. Auden tells me she misses Hawaii fairly often and I think a lot of that is playing at the beach and swimming. It was so hot while we were in Utah and this splash pad was the perfect family friendly and FREE activity for the kids to burn energy and guarantee a good night's sleep. This was a great trip and activity to kick off the hot summer days we’ve been having.
Since being back in Bend we have bought a little blow up pool for our backyard and are taking advantage of the family swim hours at Larkspur Community Center and Juniper Pool! If you need a way to cool off these days check out their schedule at the Bend Parks and Rec website. Stay cool everyone!!
