Salt Lake Family Vacation- Park City Family Photographer
Another beautiful snowy family session in the books. Nerves can be high when you’re planning a snow session and have little ones involved. My sessions are fast paced normally, but even more so when it comes to snow and cold. This family came prepared with extra layers, hot chocolate and ready to party. Literally the best thing you can do is follow the lead of your kid.
These guys chased, pulled sleds, threw this little lady in the air and it made all the difference. The sessions that run the smoothest are sessions where parents follow the lead of their kids. This doesn’t mean letting kids getting into danger or trouble, but you can still follow their lead and then guide them somewhere else for other candid moments.
Jordan Pines is a beautiful option up the Big Cottonwood Canyon that works for all seasons. Though it can be crowded it can be beautiful with mountain views and snow capped trees, or beautiful fall colors. And it helps if your photographer is good at photoshop lol. Bring the snow accessories and make it a fun experience for all.
This family booked the full hour session to make sure there was enough time for their daughter to warm up to me and so we could accurately document her. I think this is a great route to take if your kids take a bit to warm up to new scenarios, places and people. And allows for time to take breaks if needed. I loved that this family brought hot chocolate to enjoy at the end and it was a good motivator to get a few extra pictures towards the end.
