White Aspen Creative Family Session- Bend Oregon Photographer

I have been eying the White Aspen Creative Studio for a while now and just waiting for someone to want to book a session there and it finally happened! The LaThrope Family was actually planning on meeting with another photographer, however that photographer lives in another city and there was a big storm the weekend of this shoot so they were no longer able to make it. So I was able to step in and do the session with this awesome family. White Aspen Studio is a great option if you want something different than an outdoor setting, unpredictable weather, if you have a newborn or little baby, want a more modern and neutral background. I have done several sessions here now since this one and I am hooked on the studio look for family sessions. White Aspen provides different furniture to utilize and a variety of backdrops with incredible lighting as half of the studio has glass walls. It's really a photographers dream. So I'll stop talking about it and just show you.

The LaThrope family loves doing updated kids pictures that are a little different than the normal, dressing up as a character for them! It's like honestly getting to celebrate Halloween twice, which my kids would definitely not object to. The kids each had a character from a book they had read with the family that they dressed up as. We had Harry Potter, people from the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and the cutest little dragon loving baby. It was a fun new spin on birthday pictures I hadn't seen before.

I could tell that these kids love each other and love their parents. The three older kids all wanted to be taking care of the baby and they had so much fun together. That's my favorite part of being a photographer, is just sitting back and watching how you interact with each other. It's also special to document an only girl in the family with her parents, the baby, brothers, mom and dad etc. no combination is any less special than another. Also so fun with clients become real life friends! My kids have loved being able to get to know the LaThrope kids and play together.

If you're looking for something different than your regular spots you've had family pictures done, look into a studio option! It eliminates cold weather, wind, and can offer a really timeless and minimalistic location!
