Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival- Bend Oregon Family Photographer
We finally made the time to go down to Portland for a weekend and see the tulip festival while it was open. I have heard great things about the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival but not seen it in person. Years ago, before we moved to Hawaii, we lived in Seattle while my husband finished his clinical rotations for pharmacy school and we were able to go to one of the tulip festivals in Washington. Auden was only 9 months old at the time and it poured that whole time we were there but it didn't keep us from enjoying the vibrant tulips and feeling like we were transported into the Netherlands.
SO when we moved back to the PNW and I saw there was a tulip festival within driving distance we made the trip for the weekend. Also, can you even go to Portland without going to Home Goods and Ikea? Of course not. We made time to do that as were moving into the house were building in Bend in just a few short weeks!
Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival is tucked away just 45 minutes outside of Portland in Woodburn, OR. Thanks to Covid, we really avoided the crowds that would usually attend something like this. It felt like we had a good portion of the place to ourselves. Tickets were only $20 for adults and kids under 12 were free. The kids loved seeing all the flowers, though Soren wanted to pull them all up out of the ground lol. Auden felt like she was in some sort of beautiful garden. The vibrance of the flowers was beautiful and to just look out and see rows and rows of them was incredible.
I took my AliceandCo. matching sibling sets for the kids to wear, Soren cooperated for probably 2 seconds for a handful of shots but Aude rose to the occasion and was the cutest little thing. The tulip season has come to an end but if you have the chance to go next year from Bend, I would highly recommend!!
