If you want to know what a in home newborn session with a toddler looks like, this will give you a good idea. Newborns and toddlers are maybe the two most unpredictable ages to photograph and put together could be a disaster but a beautiful and chaotic one at that. But just know this doesn’t mean we can’t achieve beautiful pictures for you.

I think the biggest thing for having a successful session inside your home is to take turns documenting both ages and then every so often set up a full family picture or one with both parents and one of the kids. This baby was an angel and made it easier to wrangle the toddler. He literally slept the whole time and we just moved him from room to room for different shots.

Some times shooting in homes can mean darker lighting, or working on a cloudy/rainy day, or the lighting isn’t ideal based on where windows are placed and how the house is facing. A great way to give timeless images is to do some and edit them in both B&W and color if the lighting is a little darker than you had hoped. And gives you more variety in your final gallery.

I think sometimes families feel like their house isn’t “picture worthy” to have newborn pictures done in. Though this house is beautiful and we used a lot of rooms in it, You really only need one room, or a few good windows to achieve the pictures that you want. Rest assured we can make a corner of your house look like a studio and capture beautiful pictures.
